Crash Data Codes Erased
Your SRS airbag module may store crash data known as hard codes that no airbag scanner or OBD tool can erase. These DTC codes may look something like 1-1, 1-2, D3-11 or countless other variations. Anything from open circuit to short circuit, internal failure of SRS unit, high resistance, low resistance or no communications. Also, anything related to the airbag, impact sensors, seat belts, pretensioners, crash data & more. Air bags, driver side, passenger side and any failure indication is certainly a sign that you will need to have you SRS airbag module reset.
Where is the airbag module located?
The SRS unit is usually located under the center console of the vehicle or in between the front seats. Some vehicles have the airbag computer under the front driver or passenger seat. Whenever accessing the airbag computer, be sure to have the battery disconnected.
How do I remove my SRS airbag module?
Removing the SRS airbag module is simple! Just disconnect the battery and then proceed to unplugging the unit. Take caution with the wire harness as the connection pins on the computer module are extremely sensitive.
